Shane Snyder

Percussion Director

Mr. Snyder serves as the Director of Percussion at Rushing Middle School. He also serves the Prosper High School Band staff as percussion specialist. Previously, Mr. Snyder worked with Rogers MS in Prosper, Griffin Middle School, and Wakeland High School in Frisco, maintaining an integral part of the development of the percussion program.

Mr. Snyder has been a part of the marching percussion scene for 16 years, competing and teaching at a high level. While earning his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of North Texas, Mr. Snyder was a member of the Denton Guyer Band staff as well as many other schools in the DFW area over the past decade.

Mr. Snyder has been a member of the Boston Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corps staff for 4 years. Prior to his teaching position in DCI, Mr. Snyder was a member of the Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps. Joining the Corps as a high school Junior in 2005, he returned for another 2 years winning the Fred Sanford High Percussion Award in 2006.

​Mr. Snyder attended Marcus High School under the direction of Kennan Wylie, where he earned many accolades as a student percussionist. Mr. Snyder also competed as a PASIC soloist winning 1st place in 2003.
