Jarred Dodd
Head Band Director
Jarred Dodd is Head Band Director at Rushing Middle School, in Prosper Texas where he has served as head director since opening the school in 2020. During his 14 years of leading a band, ensembles under Mr. Dodd’s direction have consistently earned superior ratings in Texas UIL competition and local festivals and has helped to develop a number of TMEA All-State musicians.
Bands under Mr. Dodd’s direction have been selected to perform at the Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic in Chicago, Illinois, as state semi-finalists in the TMEA Honor Band competition, and recognized as a National Winner in the Foundation for Music Education’s Mark of Excellence.
The Rushing MS band and Mr. Dodd have been recognized by the Texas House of Representatives for excellence in Texas music education (H.R. no. 1187). In January of 2024, Mr. Dodd was awarded the Citation of Excellence by the National Band Association.
Mr. Dodd began his musical career as a trumpet student of Kelley Fletcher in Sulphur Springs, TX where he was a two-time member of the Texas All-State Band. He received his B.A. in Music Education from Texas Tech University, studying with Dr. Sarah McKoin and Dr. Keith Dye. While at TTU, Mr. Dodd was a member of the Symphonic Wind Ensemble, Symphony Orchestra, and the athletic bands.
Mr. Dodd is a lifelong learner and completed his Master’s in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies in April of 2023 from the University of Texas at Arlington. He has been a presenter at Texas Music Educators Association and Texas Bandmasters Association conventions, and is an active member of both organizations. He enjoys motivating young musicians to reach their highest level of performance on a daily basis. He feels honored, privileged, and extremely blessed to have had the many great mentors, band directors, and close friends who have influenced his career thus far.
Mr. Dodd and wife Alison, a fellow educator, enjoy spending time with their two children, Spencer and Hannah.

Brandon Holt
Assistant Band Director
Mr. Holt is a Band Director at Rushing Middle School, where he works primarily with Symphonic Band, Jazz Band, beginner saxophones, beginner bassoons, and beginner Tuba / Euphonium. Previously, he served as head band director for Prosper High School (2019-2023) and Rogers Middle School (2016-2019), and in the Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD as Associate Director of Bands at L.D. Bell High School (2006-2016) and Assistant Director at Harwood Junior High (2004-2006).
Mr. Holt has received state and national acclaim through the many successes of the band programs he has been associated with. These acclaims include numerous Bands of America Regional and Super-Regional Marching Championships, earning three silver medal placements and one bronze medal at the 5A UIL Texas State Marching Contest, and being named the 2007 Bands of America Grand National Champion. Concert bands under the direction of Mr. Holt have been awarded numerous Texas UIL Sweepstakes Awards and have received top honors at participating festivals and competitions.
Originally from Oklahoma, Mr. Holt began his instrumental studies in Midwest City as a saxophonist. Following his high school years, Mr. Holt graduated from Oklahoma Baptist University with a Bachelor of Musical Arts degree and later completed his graduate work at Baylor University, where he earned a Master of Music degree.
Mr. Holt is a Yamaha Performing Artist and an educational endorser for D’Addario Woodwinds. His professional affiliations include the North American Saxophone Alliance, Texas Music Educators Association, and Texas Bandmasters Association. Mr. Holt resides in Prosper, Texas with his wife, Rachel, and daughter, Elizabeth.

Ally Lyons
Assistant Band Director
Ms. Lyons is excited to enter her fifth year of teaching and her second year as an Assistant Band Director at Rushing Middle School. She teaches Concert Band along with beginner clarinet, flute, and oboe classes.
Prior to joining Rushing in 2025, Ms. Lyons was the Assistant Band Director at Wester Middle School in Frisco ISD. She graduated from the University of North Texas with a Bachelor's degree in Music Education and received her Master of Music degree from Southern Methodist University. During her time at UNT, Ms. Lyons performed in several concert ensembles on clarinet and bass clarinet, including the Green Brigade Marching Band, the 8 O'Clock Steel Band, and the Women's Chorus. Her love of music led to performing with Orion Winds in WGI on clarinet and Spirit of Atlanta Drum and Bugle Corps on baritone. She has given back to the marching arts by serving as a visual instructor at Music City Drum Corps and the Blue Knights Drum and Bugle Corps.
Ensembles under the direction of Ms. Lyons have consistently earned superior ratings at the Texas UIL Concert and Sightreading Contest, in addition to various festivals across the metroplex. She is affiliated with the Texas Bandmasters Association, Texas Music Educators Association, and the Alpha Eta chapter of Pi Kappa Lambda.
During her free time, Ms. Lyons enjoys reading, running, spending time with friends and family, and learning something new every day!

Jacob Jimenez
Percussion Director
Jacob Jimenez is a percussion educator and performer based in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. After growing up in Grapevine, TX he moved to Bloomington, Indiana to pursue a Bachelor of Music Education from Indiana University. After graduating Summa Cum Laude in 2026, he began his current position in Prosper ISD as the Percussion Director at Rushing Middle School, where he works with percussion students across the district in a variety of performance settings.
In addition to working with percussion students, Mr. Jimenez is an active performer and has had opportunities to perform as drumline captain and quad section leader with the Indiana University Marching Hundred, as quad soloist at the PASIC convention in Indianapolis, and as center quad and section leader for the Troopers Drum and Bugle Corps.
